An insightful guide for all ages ..., July 15, 2009

Dear Lilly is a book that tells of one man's amazing journey through the trials and tribulations of life. More than a story of Greyson's life experiences, Dear Lilly is a guide that serves to inform, help and inspire. Both Greyson's unique writing style and the set up of his book is one that resonates with the youth of today. I even found myself skipping around to different parts of the book - to sections that I felt compelled to read right away - without feeling lost as I returned to read from the very beginning!!! (Can you tell I really needed to read a book like this?) I HIGHLY recommend this book to the parents of any child making his or her way through high school and/or college and furthermore, to this particular group of young adults themselves (ESPECIALLY THE GIRLS - I wish I had read this back in high school)! The most remarkable aspect of this book, however, was its ability to touch something deep down within me ... within in all of us ... to demonstrate that, truly, we are all the same. Dear Lilly has helped me to realize that I am not alone in my fears, questions and life's difficulties and even more importantly, that I never was!!!

This book was written by a father to his daughter about the trials and
tribulations he faced growing up, including abuse, peer pressure,
depression, drugs and sex. Through heartfelt, emotional, and inspiring
accounts of his own life lessons the author gives insight to his
daughter of what a boy is really thinking, how difficult peer pressure
can be, high school and college years as well how never to give up. I
loved this book and recommend it to anyone who has kids that are about
the reach those difficult teenage years. It's a great read for teens as
well that want some real truth and understanding of what they may be
going through or face themselves. I laughed and cried!

An inspiring and heart felt book for all readers; teenagers, college-bound and parents alike. Spelling out the real truths to life through personal experiences, this brave father doesn't leave out any details about the trials and tribulations teenage girls must deal with in our unforgiving and judgemental world. Through brutal honesty and a down-to-earth guide, this transformed father reassures his daughter there is normalcy in every awkward phase of the teenage years and life as we know it. I laughed, cried, and even discovered a little bit more about myself. Read with an open mind and an open heart. What an amazing journey!

Must read for teens (and adults)!!, July 13, 2009

I read this book in one day. Easy read but also a terrific read. Peter opens up about all in this book. Love that it's written in Diary format to his little girl. He goes over all the topics that parents should talk with their kids about...and some! I wish I had this when I was a teen. This book is not only for teens but adults who have had any rough times in their lives (who hasn't?). Peter is such an inspiration and he reminds us all that you can pick yourself up from anything. Never have I read a book that took me through every emotion possible. I've already passed the book along and am buying three more as gifts.

A facinating journey that one boy takes through his adolescence all the way through to the wise man and father that he has become today. His brutally honest portrayl about growing up in this world, facing the trials and tribulations of being a teenager and young adult is endearing, heart wrenching, thought provoking and truly inspiring. It is imperative that parents read this book and share it with their teenage children (especially the girls!). It will enlighten and inspire you~

I loved this amazing book! i wish someone gave me a book like this when i was beginning those awkward teenage years. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me think. It discussed those topics that you really want to discuss with your children but usually do not go into the depth about. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone, especially teenage girls and their parents.

This book was written from a father to his daughter warning her about the obstacles that are in her near future. The father uses his own mistakes as examples of basically "how not to live". Every parent whether they have a son or daughter only want the best for their children and dread their children making the same mistakes they did. This book solves this problem because the father in this book has done it all. He paints a perfect picture by giving you the consequences for every decision you make in your young adult life. From how boys are, what drugs do to you and how miserable they make you, going to school and giving it your all and even the keys to happiness in life. I originally thought that this book wouldn't have any affect on me since I'm not a teenage girl but after finishing the book I couldn't help but start using the "life lessons" that are written perfectly throughout the book. Whether you're a teenage girl or not this book will leave you with a smile on your face and motivation to finding happiness and sharing it with others. This book is perfect for parents or just anyone that needs a lift in their life because it will change you!

This book is well written. It is bold, and honest. It is a must read for any parent. It is also a must read for any child who is entering their teens. This book can help a parent understand what a child goes through in their teens and also help a teen get through these tough years. On top of being informative it will also keep you riveted with the authors own personal experiences. This book made me cry and laugh. I highly recommend this book.

A must read for all parents out there who are having trouble talking to their daughters about growing up, sex, drugs and education. Or just don't know how. And for the daughters out there who cant ask these same questions? A book filled with funny, heart warming and at times gut wrenching stories of growing up in this world, that any parent can relate to. All of which are geared towards steering our children down the right path and away from the dark alleys. AMAZING!
